Inspirational Associations

“If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader.” – John Quincy Adams

My pastor often says, “show me your friends and I’ll show you your future.” It’s true. How many times have we seen people who hang out with the wrong crowd and become influenced by them to do things they shouldn’t do? If you’re known by the company you keep, then the company you keep should both inspire and invigorate you to achieve great things.

Leaders recognize the importance of keeping company with those people who choose to achieve higher heights, the excel in what they do, to show integrity daily and to serve others. Your potential is determined by those closest to you. Just as every leader should be a mentor, every leader should have a mentor.

There are five questions you should ask about your inner circle:

  1. Do they display character and integrity in everything they do?
  2. Do their gifts complement yours?
  3. Do they have influence?
  4. Do they add value to you?
  5. Do they positively impact others around you?

Your associations will define you. Who you spend the most time with will determine the heights you soar to. Carefully choose who you associate with for you to achieve the next level of greatness.
